Notts Anti Academies Alliance – Rushcliffe school public meeting

Anti Academies AllianceNotts Anti-Academies Alliance public meeting
Campaigning against Academy Status
at Rushcliffe School

All Hallows Hall, Lady Bay
West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5BP
Tuesday 8 November – 7pm

From Notts Anti Academies Alliance:

Next month, the governing body of Rushcliffe School will meet with a view to applying for Academy status. Consultation is online via the school website (www.rushcliffe.notts.sch.uk) with a deadline of 30 November to submit opinions. There is also meeting on Wednesday 9 November at the school at 3.30pm “for those wishing to ask questions about the way Rushcliffe would operate if it became an Academy”.

Becoming an academy removes the school from the family of local schools run by the Local Authority and places it under direct control of the Department for Education. This reduces the control that local people and parents have over their school.

If you’d like to get involved with the campaign against academisation of Rushcliffe school come to the meeting on Tuesday 8 November at All Hallows Hall, Lady Bay at 7pm.

Join the Rushcliffe Anti Academies Facebook to connect with other parents, pupils and concerned residents who would like to see Rushcliffe remain a good local school not a directly controlled academy.

Download the model letter and send it to Rushcliffe school at their address marked ‘Academy Consultation’, or email it to them at admin.office@rushcliffe.notts.sch.uk. Alternatively you can fill in the web form on their website
